Show Notes

Joy Jones and Myra Morgan Martin met in 2004 over a shared love of good health and physical activity. Joy was putting together the initial experience that in time would come to be known as the DC Retro Jumpers. Joined by several others, they reminded us all of a love for the simplicity, and yes joy, of the childhood activity, Double Dutch jump roping. They took to the streets and invited comers of all ages to join in the fun. This enterprise has grown by leaps and bounds (pun intended) and among other things has encouraged both ladies to write books. Myra's book, A Better Me A Better You  is a relatable work about healthy eating, exercise and other experiences. Joy's latest book, Jayla Jumps In, shares the story of 11 year old Jayla who learns of her mother's past love of Double Dutch. This inspires Jayla and gets her moving with her mother to support her mother's path to better health. You can check out their books here:
